This week, we will explore the principles of drawing by creating lines, shapes, light and shadows, perspective, composition, and values. Our subjects will include flowers, vases, objects, and animals.

Painting

Week 1: June 22 – June 26

This week we will explore the principles of acrylic painting, including color mixing, brush strokes, and layering techniques. By the end of the course, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how to effectively manipulate acrylics and create compelling compositions that tell a story.

This week, students will kick off their lessons by learning about the materials required for their projects, along with how to build values, tones, and textures. Students then will explore accurate proportions, start by blocking in base shapes, and refine every detail to create realistic animal drawings.

Manga and Illustration

This week, students will embark on an exciting journey to master the art of drawing manga characters from the ground up. They will learn to skillfully illustrate Japanese-inspired protagonists, focusing on achieving perfect proportions while infusing each character with a distinctive style and vibrant personality.

*REGISTRATION TERMS**  

Registration shall be conducted on a first come, first served basis. You will need to make a full payment at the time of registration.  Age 8 – 16.

**REFUND POLICY**  

Withdrawal from the camp must occur by the following deadlines:  

– No refunds will be issued 2 weeks before the camp.  

No refunds, credits, or make-ups shall be provided for camper absences.  

Vanessa’s Art Studio reserves the right to cancel any session that does not meet the minimum enrollment. In such an instance, full refunds and less applied discounts will be issued.

All summer camps occur at Vanessa’s Art Studio, which is centrally located in Citrus Park, near Carrollwood, Citrus Park, Westchase, Odessa, Keystone, Lutz, Tampa, and Pasco.
